Haimei Zheng is a senior staff scientist in Materials Sciences Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) and she is also an adjunct professor in Materials Science and Engineering at University of California, Berkeley. She received a Ph.D degree in materials science and engineering from University of Maryland, College Park and was a postdoctoral fellow at University of California, Berkeley and LBNL. Her current research focuses on understanding how atomic level heterogeneity and fluctuations control physical and chemical processes of materials. With in-situ transmission electron microscopy, her group studies non-equilibrium nucleation, nanoscale materials growth and transformations, solid-liquid interfaces. This research allows for gaining critical insights on novel materials and devices. Dr. Zheng has 117 publications with total citations of over 19,500 times and an H-index of 53. Zheng received LBNL Director’s award for exceptional scientific achievement, DOE Office of Science early career award in 2011.
