There is a need for materials with high current electron emitters for next generation electron generators. Solution processed, high density carbon nanotube (CNT) fibers have been shown to exhibit the highest current at low voltage out of any field emitter to date. In order to incorporate these fibers into various devices, there is a need to develop techniques to connect the conducting fiber to other electrical components. Connection using solder, silver paint, and silver epoxy often leads to either poor mechanical stability or poor electrical connectivity. Here, we show improved adhesion and electrical contact for fibers adhered to various conductors with solvent-based technique. This superior connectivity has resulted in the manufacture of stable, high current field emitters.
