The size and shape controlled graphene modified anatase TiO2 nanoflowers and TiO2 nanospheres with exposed {001} facets that were obtained by a simple hydrothermal route without hydrofluoric acid. The prepared graphene-TiO2 nanomaterials was subjected to characterize for transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron, Raman, UV-vis absorption and photoluminescence spectroscopies, and N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms. The obtained graphene-TiO2 nanomaterials were fabricated as photoanode of dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC). The photovoltaic performance of the cells was evaluated under standard air mass 1.5 global simulated illumination (100 mW cm-2). The fabricated DSSC device with the graphene modified anatase TiO2 nanoflowers with exposed {001} facets photoanode demonstrated an enhanced solar-to-electrical energy conversion efficiency of 6.25 %, which was higher than the other morphology of graphene-TiO2 nanospheres (5.74 %), TiO2 nanoflowers (4.35 %) and commercial-grade Degussa P25 TiO2 nanoparticle (3.21 %).
