An electrospinning technique with polyacrylonitrile fiber carbonization in NH3 is used to prepare three-dimensional graphene nanofibers. The graphene nanosheets on the nanofibers contain between 1 and a few atomic layers with their edges exposed on the surface, the membrane show excellent electrical conductivity (184 S m-1) and high ion-accessible surface area (850 g m-2). As a consequence, the graphene nanofibers displays high specific capacitance of 320 F g-1, excellent rate capability and ultrahigh energy density of 70 Wh kg-1 in organic electrolyte.
